MRI & CT Center

The MRI scanner at OrthoArkansas is constructed with patient comfort, safety and dignity in mind. We have two scanners —one in our Little Rock-Midtown location and one in our North Little Rock location. They each can accommodate patients who weigh up to 550 pounds. The state-of-the-art Siemens Magnetom Aera 1.5 T is a short-bore magnet that is mainly used for images of the brain, spine and musculoskeletal system.

Our trained MRI techs typically complete the noninvasive process within 30-45 minutes and can immediately process and make your images available. The images are then forwarded to a radiologist, who often provides interpretation within a few hours.

Our new, state-of-the-art CT scanner is a Siemens Somatom go.Up 64 slice scanner. It will accommodate patients who weigh up to 500 pounds. This is low-dose scanner that has the highest performance and metal artifact reduction packages available.

CT scans are noninvasive procedures and can typically be performed in 5-15 minutes. As with MRIs, these images are processed and sent to a radiologist for interpretation.

ALERT! Certain materials are not suitable for MRI.

Notify your doctor immediately if you have any of the following, which will prevent you from having an MRI scan:

  • Pacemaker

  • Brain aneurysm clips

  • Neurostimulators

  • Cochlear implants
