William Blankenship

Dr. Blankenship fulfilled a childhood dream when he became a physician, and he counts as two of his proudest moments becoming a board certified orthopedic surgeon and graduating from the U.S. Army War College. He retired from the U.S. Army Medical Corps with the rank of Colonel.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine, Dr. Blankenship did an internship at Baylor College of Medicine and residency training in general surgery and orthopedic surgery at UAMS. He joined OrthoArkansas in 1998.

Dr. Blankenship is Board Certified by and a Fellow and Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arkansas Orthopedic Association and the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons.

In addition to caring for his patients, Dr. Blankenship enjoys building model vehicles and spending time with this family. He calls his wife, June, to whom he has been married 45 years, the bravest and most caring person he has ever known.
