| Dr. Gilliam became interested
in medicine in general, and in orthopedic surgery specifically,
when he himself received excellent orthopedic care following an
accident at age 17. He since has returned to a very active lifestyle
including bicycling, swimming, skiing and hunting. In fact, he has
ridden the entire 570-mile Blue Ridge Parkway on a bicycle. As a
physician, his goal is to help patients recover and enjoy their
own active lifestyles.
Dr. Gilliam graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical
Sciences and has a special interest in orthopedic sports medicine,
particularly arthroscopic shoulder surgery. He is married and the
father of two children who are the delight of his life.
