Philip Johnson

Dr. Johnson, a native of Jackson, MS, did his undergraduate work at Memphis State University. After earning his bachelor's degree, he traveled across town to the University of Tennessee College of Medicine for his Doctor of Medicine degree. An internship at City of Memphis followed, and Dr. Johnson completed a general surgery residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

A fascination with the musculoskeletal system led to a residency in orthopedic surgery at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis and then an appointment at OrthoArkansas. Dr. Johnson has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. His medical interests include stabilizing complicated fractures, reconstructing and replacing hip, knee and shoulder joints, and treating complex foot and ankle disease and injury.

A Board Certified surgeon of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Johnson is a member of several national, regional and state medical associations.

Married and the proud father of four children, he has five grandchildren and enjoys sporting events with his family. A commercial pilot for more than 30 years, Dr. Johnson enjoys flying for both business and pleasure.
