| Before pursuing a medical
career, Dr. Jay Lipke studied civil engineering at the University
of Illinois, even earning a masters degree. While he was in medical
school at the University of Iowa, his engineering background led
him to complete an orthopedic residency at the University of Arkansas
for Medical Sciences. After a year in academic medicine, he entered
private practice and enjoys all facets of orthopedic surgery, with
special interest in knee/shoulder arthroscopy and total joint arthroplasty.
He served as president of the Arkansas Orthopedic Society and is
now president of OrthoArkansas.
When not working, Dr. Lipke enjoys whitewater rafting, flying
and other outdoor activities. Mostly, he enjoys spending time with
his family and watching his four children as they pursue their own
educations and careers.
