 Dr. Thompson was following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather and great-grandfather when he became a physician. He enjoys getting to know and help patients, just as did the previous generations of his family. Complex hand surgery and joint reconstruction are his special interests.
Dr. Thompson is past president of OrthoArkansas and has served as Chief of Staff at Baptist Medical Center and Chief of Orthopedics at Baptist Medical Center and St. Vincent Infirmary.
He earned his undergraduate degree at Tulane University in New Orleans and received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he completed an internship and a residency in orthopedic surgery. His fellowship training was at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and at UAMS.
Dr. Thompson is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, is past president of the Arkansas Orthopedic Society, the Arkansas Hand Surgery Society and the Arkansas Orthopedic Alumni Association.
He and his wife, Diana, are the proud parents of three grown children and they have three grandchildren.
