 Dr. Wirges was born in Russellville, AR, and attended Arkansas Tech University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry. He then enrolled at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science and was awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Wirges completed his medical training with a surgical internship and general surgery residency at Texas Tech University and a hand surgery fellowship with Kleinert, Kutz and Associates Hand Care Center in Louisville, KY.
As a hand surgery specialist at OrthoArkansas, he treats patients of all ages who have a variety of conditions. He is Board Certified by the American Board of General Surgeons and is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Association of the Hand Surgery. He has a special interest in the treatment of Dupytren's disease and arthritis.
He and his wife, Marla, are actively involved in the activities of their three children. As time permits, Dr. Wirges also enjoys travel and athletics.
