John Yocum

Dr. Yocum, a native of El Dorado, has always had a keen interest in health and the treatment of Arkansas' young athletes. Working with OrthoArkansas' extensive trainer network, Dr. Yocum has provided athletic event coverage for Central Arkansas for more than 15 years.

The treatment of musculoskeletal injuries led Dr. Yocum to pursue a career in orthopedics, and after earning his Bachelor of Science in chemistry at Vanderbilt University, he enrolled at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Yocum completed an internship and a residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. This training provided him extensive experience in evaluation, surgical and non-surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries.

He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and he performs partial and total joint replacement surgery and limited incision surgery for the hip and knee. Dr. Yocum and his wife, Jane, have two sons. His favorite leisure time activities are golf, snow skiing and hunting.
