| Interest in the treatment
of musculoskeletal injuries led Dr. Yocum to pursue a career in
orthopedics. Working with OrthoArkansas’ extensive trainer
network, Dr. Yocum has provided athletic event coverage for Central
Arkansas for more than 15 years. This has given him extensive experience
in evaluation, surgical/non-surgical treatment, and rehabilitation
of sports injuries. Joint replacement surgery, including total,
partial, and limited incision surgery for the hip/knee, has also
been a primary interest for Dr. Yocum.
He understands the importance of rehab through supervised physical
therapy in returning the patient to action with maximum function
and diminished risk for re-injury.
A board certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Yocum earned his medical
degree from U.A.M.S. and completed a residency in orthopedic surgery
at the University of Louisville. He is married with two sons, enjoys
