Rheumatology Information

Arthritis and other autoimmune diseases of the joints are painful and can lead to joint and nerve damage, chronic pain, loss of function and even disability. These diseases require specialized care, and we are one of few orthopedic groups with a rheumatologist on staff to treat them. Working with our orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Jasen C. Chi uses the patient's symptoms, a physical exam, lab and imaging studies to determine if you are suffering from rheumatoid or osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, lupus, gout, fibromyalgia or other autoimmune condition.

From that comprehensive process, he and others on the OrthoArkansas care team will design a treatment program, which may include a combination of medication, surgery and physical therapy to reduce pain and aggressively treat and slow the advancement of your disease.
