Job Position: Durable Medical Equipment Manager
Job Description: Coordinates, plans, develops, and organizes various DME activities in the Clinic. Exercises coordination and supervision over Ortho Techs & assisting DME staff.

DME Manager Duties
Coordinates the general and technical aspects of assigned staff in accordance with clinic, governmental and other regulatory standards.
Works with Director of Operations and other Clinical Managers to recommend, develop and implement department policies and procedures.
Communicates updates to staff on changes in workflow, policies, procedures, etc.
Participates in the assessment of staffing needs.
Maintains master work schedule of staff. Adjusts staffing for appropriate coverage. Coordinates with other Clinical Managers regarding coverage needs.
Evaluates patient care needs. Suggests solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints.
Identifies, studies, and recommends solutions to staff related issues.
Assists in the hiring, training/orientation, and performance evaluation of assigned staff.
Assigns duties and participates in staff training. Arranges for in-service education when needed.
Maintains time and attendance records of staff. Approves time reports and overtime, and coordinates scheduled paid leave of the assigned staff.
Coordinates purchasing of casting and DME supplies.
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
Attends appropriate conferences and workshops.
Handles patient complaints according to current policy.
Communicates with staff regarding MIPS and other government required programs.
Monitors Athena Clinical Inbox for assigned staff.
Provides problem resolution for patients, staff, and physicians.
Communicates with management and call center regarding the additions or cancellations of physician clinics.
Monitors, records and communicates Physician PTO days.
Monitors clinic workflow regularly.
Performs other duties as assigned.
2-5 years of DME experience in a clinical or acute care setting.
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
Customer Service, Customer Focus, Bedside Manner, Physical Fitness, Verbal Communication, Listening, Documentation Skills, Decision Making, Patient Services, Health Care Administration, Health Promotion and Maintenance
Considerable responsibility with regard to general assignments in planning time, method, manner,and/or sequence of performance of own work, in addition, the organization and delegation of work operations for a group of employees engaged in widely diversified activities.
Performs work operations which permit frequent opportunity for decision-making of minor importance and also frequent opportunity for decision-making of major importance, either of which would affect the work operations of large organizational component and the organization's clientele.
