Job Position: Maintenance Technician

Job Description: OrthoArkansas is hiring a maintenance technician to join our facilities team. You will inspect different equipment and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, be able to read blueprints and repair manuals, and be available to be on call 24/7 for emergencies. This position will facilitate the safety of employees and patients.

Duties and responsibilities 

  1. Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.

  2. Performing preventative maintenance.

  3. Handling basic repairs and maintenance.

  4. Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.

  5. Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.

  6. Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.

  7. Be available for 24/7 on call for emergencies.

  8. Ensure the safety of employees and patients at all times.


  1. Proven maintenance experience.

  2. HVAC maintenance experience.

  3. Must have a valid Arkansas Driver’s License.

  4. Must have reliable transportation.

  5. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  6. Related degree from a technical college.

  7. Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

  8. Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.

  9. Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.

  10. Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.

  11. Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.

  12. Experience performing routine maintenance.

  13. Strong organizational and follow up skills.

  14. Eye for detail.

  15. Professional presentation and attitude.

  16. Ability to maintain focus while working individually.

  17. Strong time management skills.

Physical requirements 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment, and speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to customers and fellow employees, in order to perform the above listed duties. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 75-100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
