Meet Dr. Smith

Dr. P. Allan Smith was born in Little Rock, Ark., and raised in Hot Springs. He attended Baylor University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in biology in 1999. In 2003, Dr. Smith earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Dr. Smith completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2008. While in residency, he participated in an AO International Fellowship in Klagenfurt, Austria. In 2011, Dr. Smith completed a one-year sports medicine fellowship at the Mississippi Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, Miss., focusing on arthroscopy of the shoulder, hip, knee and elbow.

Dr. Smith is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Dr. Smith and his wife Lori have two children. His hobbies are CrossFit, hunting and reading.
