Meet Dr. Newbern

Dr. Newbern has been practicing orthopedics in Little Rock since 1992. His subspecialty training is in reconstruction of the hip and knee. After completing medical school at UAMS and orthopedic residency at Georgetown University Medical Center, he completed fellowship training in hip and knee replacement at The Center for Hip and Knee Surgery in Mooresville, Ind.

The goal of his practice is to provide expert treatment of hip and knee problems with use of arthroscopy, partial (unicompartmental) and total knee replacement, total hip replacement, mini-incision hip replacement, realignment procedures (avoiding joint replacement), and revision hip and knee replacements (when the prosthesis has failed). Dr. Newbern is consulted on unusually difficult joint replacement cases from around the state. His research articles have been published in the Journal of Arthroplasty. He performs more than 500 joint replacement procedures per year.

After raising and educating their four children, Dr. Newbern and his wife, Linda, enjoy getting out in the Ozark mountains, local bicycle trails, and traveling and visiting their children.
