Donna K. Barron, PA-C is a national board-certified physician assistant (PA). She graduated from the St. Louis University Physician Assistant Program in 2005, with a master’s degree in medical science. She is an active member of the American Association of Physician Assistants, Arkansas Academy of Physician Assistants, and Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery.
As a PA, she is required to complete at least 100 hours of continuing education every two years and pass a recertifying board exam every six years. Physician assistants are considered dependent providers and are overseen by their supervising physician and the State Medical Board. PAs are considered an extension of their supervising physician. Donna’s advanced training as a midlevel provider enhances the depth of knowledge, flow of communication and quality of patient care in the clinic. Donna and Dr. Newbern have been working together since 2006, diagnosing and managing problems of the hip and knee.
