Hip

The hip is a large joint in the body that helps facilitate forward and backward leg movement as well as rotation. The hip joint is surrounded by muscles, tendons, and ligaments that provide a great amount of stability to the area while still allowing for a wide range of motion. When healthy, this is a very strong area that requires great force in order to cause injury. However, certain diseases, playing sports, overuse, or falling can lead to pain or injuries of the hip. Our hip specialists at OrthoArkansas are trained to diagnose causes of hip pain and treat anything from minor injuries to total joint replacements of the hip.
