About Dr. Jonathan Dunn

Jonathan Dunn took the scenic route to medicine. He set off to become an architect and though he had a modicum of design talent, he liked literature more. So he earned an English literature degree from the University of Arkansas. Meanwhile, he had one of his architecture friends build him a shaved-ice stand, and decided he would like to run a business. It went well. But it was the sciences he loved and at the sciences he excelled. So he sold the business, and enrolled in medical school at UAMS.
He took the scenic route to Anesthesiology, too. Initially, he set off to become a rheumatologist but found he really enjoyed neurosciences. And while aimed in the wrong direction he happened to try anesthesia. Anesthesia fit perfectly.
Professionally, he works chiefly toward risk-aware and prevention-oriented anesthesia. He also stays current on the latest data in multimodal pain management, accelerated recovery pathways, and high-volume, high-reliability practice.
While not at work, Dr. Dunn fathers three grown children. He is quite fond of them, and they give him almost no grief. He also loves petting his dog, traveling far away, and playing the piano badly.
