Meet Dr. Pruitt

Dr. Pruitt calls himself a teacher at heart. He enjoys educating his patients about how God designed their body, telling them that if they fully understand their orthopedic problem and take an active role in their recovery, it will be more complete. He especially enjoys helping patients — from kids to adults— who have arthritis, shoulder pain, sports injuries, fractures and crippling conditions become active again through arthroscopy, joint replacement surgery and minimally invasive techniques.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Pruitt attended Texas A&M University, majoring in history and medical sciences. He graduated magna cum laude and went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from Texas A&M's College of Medicine. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Pruitt came to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, completing an internship and an orthopedic surgery residency.

Dr. Pruitt is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of OrthopAedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Arkansas Medical Society and the Pulaski Medical Society.

In addition to surgery, Dr. Pruitt uses his hands as an accomplished pianist. His other interests are politics and history. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Kimberly, and they have four children.

Patient Reviews

“Dr. Pruitt is one of the best doctors I have had in the past 30 years. His staff is always welcoming and Dr. Pruitt take the time needed with each patient.”- Sammy R.

“Dr. Pruitt did my bilateral knee replacement surgery. I was walking without using any support 12 hours after surgery. I feel blessed to have had him do my surgery. Now almost five years later, I’m still doing fantastic. Thanks Dr. Pruitt.”- Billy W.
